And after that trip down memory lane, here’s what Maximum City Mumbai actually had in store for us during a very short visit this year:
A breezy taxi ride over the “much talked-about” Bandra-Worli Sea Link (pretty impressive!).
Picturesque glimpses of Haji Ali.
A pleasant evening stroll along Napean Sea Road.
A magnificent surprise: Glorious views of the Arabian Sea from the Priyadarshini Park (We happened to spot this park during our evening walk, and after much debate, decided to spend about 15 minutes there. Once we entered, the splendid views from the park kept us riveted for almost an hour!).
The glittering Queen’s Necklace and an imposing structure decked up with lights (Google helped us determine the identity of this building to be the Saifee Hospital), seen from Kamala Nehru Park.
Mixed emotions (surprise, awe, wonder) on suddenly discovering Mukesh Ambani’s residence, Antilla, among the tall buildings during a morning walk along Pedder Road.
A short enjoyable ride in this BEST bus.
And already, it was time to say goodbye to Mumbai!
Oh, last but not least, sitting back comfortably in the spacious seats of a Shivneri bus from Mumbai (Dadar) on a journey to the city where I grew up, Pune. In less than four hours, we would be in my favorite city :).
